No. 20 Bexhill Boutique Bed and Breakfast is special because of its location, but another extraordinary feature about it is the building itself. It is part of a unique terrace of Grade 2 listed seafront houses that were built between 1903 and 1907 by various architects. These Edwardian ‘Moghul’ inspired houses were influenced by the glamour and beauty of the Indian Raj style and the building itself is a work of art, enchanting and a pleasure to visit. Having been restored to perfection in 2010, the property is elegant, timeless and luxurious. The property is south facing, has panoramic sea views and an abundance of natural light.
There is a glass, contemporary painting of the magnificent Taj Mahal displayed by the entrance, in keeping with the building’s exotic design. This was painted by a local artist named Danny Mooney, and his work has been proudly exhibited in America, the UK and is represented in collections worldwide. Other fabulous works of art and unusual ornaments are also on display here.
